ResearcherRuben Corthout graduated in a civil engineering and holds a PhD degree in Transportation Engineering from the Traffic & Infrastructure department of the KU Leuven. Since 2012 he works as a senior researcher at TML. He is mainly specialised in dynamic traffic simulations, designing intelligent traffic light controls, and multimodal traffic management. Based on this expertise, he is jointly responsible for supporting the macroscopic dynamic traffic models (MDVM) of Antwerp and the Flemish Border, the roll-out of the new traffic light coordination center (VLCC) in Antwerp, and the conversion of the A12.
