Macroscopic Traffic Models
Macroscopic traffic models are used to calculate traffic flows for a country, region, or city. Contrary to microscopic traffic models, which analyse the behaviour of every individual car, macroscopic models are used to analyse traffic flows as a whole. As such, they are used to map the car density or calculate the average speed on road sections.
