    Hanne De Naegel

    Researcher
Hanne De Naegel graduated as a MSc in Engineering in transport, logistics, and intelligent transportation systems. After her studies she went to work at Eurostation, where she worked on mobility studies for various station projects. Since 2016 she has been working as a traffic researcher at TML. Hanne mainly specialises in traffic modelling and the design of vehicle-dependent traffic light controls. Based on this expertise, she carried out microscopic simulations of, among other things, the Ring around Leuven and the traffic complexes of the E17 near Kortrijk. She is strongly involved in the roll-out of the new traffic light coordination center (VLCC) in Antwerp and is involved in the development of the macroscopic dynamic traffic model (MDVM) of Antwerp. In addition, it is active in the field of 'Minder Hinder' (lowering the nuisance) support for contractors with larger infrastructure works. For example, she contributed to safe mobility solutions for the works on the Noorderlijn in Antwerp and the raising of several bridges over the Albert Canal. In this way, she also supports the works on the 'Metro Noord' project.
