CLAiRCity aims to substantially improve future air quality and CO2 policies in European cities by initiating new modes of engaging citizens, stakeholders and policymakers. The latest social science thinking will be applied to the source apportionment of air pollution emissions and concentrations, carbon emissions and health outcomes. This means we will not only look at the source of the emissions and the technology of the source but also at citizens’ behavior and daily activities that lead to emissions and poor air quality. We will stimulate the public engagement necessary to tackle our challenging emission problems through the development of a range of citizen-led future scenarios and policy packages with the objective to improve the air quality of the cities they live in.TML is involved in the development of an emissions and air quality modelling toolkit which will facilitate multi-stakeholder dialogue in six European pilot cities. The toolkit itself targets all EU cities with a population over 50 000.
