Fully autonomous vehicles and robotic surgery machines have enormous potential to change society. However, the combination of safety, security & privacy of connected and automated systems is still a concern in multiple application domains for many consumers in Europe. The high-level goal of SECREDAS is to develop software for validating architecting methodologies, reference architectures, components and suitable integration, as well as verification approaches for automated systems in different domains. These will combine high security and privacy protection while preserving functional-safety and operational performance.
Within the European consortium conducting the SECREDAS-project, TML focusses on the incorporation of relevant know-how, questions and analyses in relation to Human Factors (HF). In particular, the focus lies on the acceptance of (professional or regular) users of individual and/or combined methodologies, architectures and technologies within specified domains.

Taking on board human factors, next to the more technical developments which are integrated in SECREDAS, allows to identify specific domains where more/less effort could or should be made to achieve a higher level of integration and real life implementation. In particular, we will focus on issues of trust, acceptance, fears, disuse and misuse:
- User acceptance of (a selection of) individual components developed in SECREDAS and (combined) components presented in the common demonstrators
- User willingness to trade or accept higher/lower levels of safety, security, privacy and reliability.
- Anticipated behavioural changes, including use, disuse and misuse
