Pelt wants to understand how planned spatial developments will collectively affect traffic and which measures are needed to keep the road network functioning effectively. TML is developing a Traffic Scout model to simulate and compare different future scenarios and mobility measures.
Over the coming years, new functions and developments are planned at various locations across Pelt. These will not only reshape the physical environment but also change how traffic moves through the municipality. Through Peltorama 2050, Pelt aims to manage this growth in a coordinated way, focusing on areas including the town centre, its villages, Nolimpark, and mobility. To make well-informed decisions, the municipality needs a clear understanding of what these developments will mean for the road network when considered together.
TML is therefore developing a Traffic Scout model for Pelt. This macroscopic traffic model allows us to simulate and compare different future scenarios. It will show how new spatial developments affect traffic flows, where additional traffic is likely to be concentrated, and where problems with traffic flow may arise.
The model also makes it possible to assess alternatives and mobility measures before they are implemented. This gives the municipality a quantitative basis for comparing different options and aligning spatial developments with the capacity and performance of the transport network. Within the framework agreement, TML is responsible for the macroscopic traffic modelling, drawing on its expertise in Traffic Scout and traffic models.
