RAEM

RAEM is the SCGE model for the Netherlands, built in the tradition of the new economic geography. The model explicitly considers interregional transportation and labour flows. For the labour market both commuting and migration are taken into account. The present RAEM version is based on the data for 1996 and integrates the production and consumption activities of 40 Dutch regions.

The project team updated the model database according to the year 2001 and further developed the model structure including the representation of international trade, a more detailed governmental sector, different socio-economic groups and the explicit distinction between durable (cars) and nondurable (fuel) commodities.
