Plan-EIR for Leuven-Noord

From 2026 to 2028
TML is supporting the City of Leuven and Antea with the environmental assessment of two major urban development projects in Leuven-Noord. Through traffic and mobility analyses, we are assessing how the future Wetenschapspark and Spoorpark will affect mobility in and around the city.
Leuven-Noord is undergoing a major transformation. The Wetenschapspark is evolving from a traditional business park into an innovation district, while the Spoorpark area will provide a mix of parkland, public space, housing, and employment. As the two developments are closely interconnected, their environmental impacts are being assessed both individually and jointly as part of two environmental impact reports.
TML is responsible for the mobility aspects of the project. We are examining traffic flows, multimodal accessibility, road safety, and the impact of traffic on the surrounding area, with particular attention to the Kessel-Lo junction and the Vunt interchange. We will use existing traffic models, traffic counts, and microsimulations to assess the future impact of the project.
