This study explores how the ABC corridor can be used more effectively. TML analyses freight flows and infrastructure along the corridor and carries out a cost–benefit analysis to support the future development of this inland waterway.

Along the Antwerp–Brussels–Charleroi waterway (ABC corridor), the demand for space for water-dependent economic activities is growing. At the same time, Flemish Waterways plc aims to better harness the potential of this inland navigation corridor to organise logistics flows more efficiently and shift more freight transport onto waterways. TML therefore maps the current situation and future opportunities for this key transport axis.

The study analyses freight flows, infrastructure, and logistics activities along the corridor. It also compares different future scenarios through a dynamic cost–benefit analysis to assess which investments and policy choices deliver the greatest societal benefits.
The results will help shape a clear long-term vision for the ABC corridor, identifying priorities for investment and opportunities for water-related economic activity.

TML is responsible for analysing freight flows, carrying out the economic evaluation, and supporting the development of the strategic vision for this inland navigation corridor.
