The Ghent police are planning to modernise and centralise their services by redeveloping the outdated site on Antonius Triestlaan. TML advises on mobility, with attention to accessibility and traffic safety.
The Ghent police are aiming to improve their operations by bringing various services together in a single central location. The current buildings on Antonius Triestlaan — once part of a military hospital — are severely outdated and no longer meet the needs of a modern police force. That’s why the site is now being assessed for a thorough redevelopment into an efficient, safe, and sustainable operational base.
A project team made up of FVWW Architects, Palmbout Urban Landscapes, and Transport & Mobility Leuven is working on a feasibility study and development plan. Among other things, we’re examining the most suitable layout for the various police departments, how the renovation can be carried out in practical terms, and what the financial implications are. The local community is also involved in the process: the team is listening closely to residents’ concerns and priorities and will take them into account throughout the project.
TML is providing mobility advice for this project. We’re contributing to the thinking around accessibility, road safety, and sustainable transport solutions — to help ensure the redeveloped site is well integrated into its urban surroundings and works smoothly for the neighbourhood.
