The Ghent police are planning to modernise and centralise their services by redeveloping the outdated site on Antonius Triestlaan. TML advised on mobility, with attention to accessibility and traffic safety.

The Ghent police are aiming to improve their operations by bringing various services together in a single central location. The current buildings on Antonius Triestlaan — once part of a military hospital — are severely outdated and no longer meet the needs of a modern police force. That is why the site was assessed for a thorough redevelopment into an efficient, safe, and sustainable operational base.

The project team worked on a feasibility study and development plan. Among other things, we examined the most suitable layout for the various police departments, how the renovation could be carried out in practical terms, and what the financial implications would be. The local community was also involved in the process: the team listened closely to residents’ concerns and priorities and took them into account throughout the project.

TML provided mobility advice for this project. We contributed to the thinking around accessibility, road safety, and sustainable transport solutions to help ensure the redeveloped site is well integrated into its urban surroundings and works smoothly for the neighbourhood.
