Advice for the Low Emission Mobility strategy

From 2026 to 2030
TML supports Brussels Environment through studies, technical analyses, and stakeholder engagement to further develop the Low Emission Mobility Strategy and electrify.brussels, helping accelerate the transition to zero-emission mobility.
With its Low Emission Mobility and electrify.brussels strategies, Brussels Environment has set an ambitious course towards achieving zero-emission mobility by 2035. Delivering on this ambition, however, takes place in a rapidly evolving landscape: vehicle and fuel technologies continue to advance, new charging and smart charging solutions emerge at pace, and policy frameworks are regularly updated.
To keep up with these developments, it is essential to identify emerging trends early, assess their implications, and draw lessons from the experiences of other cities. This enables the Brussels-Capital Region to support targeted initiatives that can accelerate the transition, for example in urban logistics, (ultra-)fast charging infrastructure, and smart charging systems.
A successful transition also depends on the active involvement of all relevant stakeholders. Effective stakeholder engagement helps reconcile different interests, build support, and identify potential barriers at an early stage.
We support Brussels Environment through targeted studies and analyses that not only assess the impacts and costs, but also examine the conditions and levers required for successful implementation. Our work combines the latest scientific and technological insights with market intelligence, benchmarking exercises, and input from stakeholders and sector organisations. For technical studies and expert advice, we collaborate with VITO, while Espaces Mobilités leads stakeholder engagement and supports the governance of the process.
