Optimisation study of the BUDA-company zone
17051
From 2018 to 2020
Short description:
The Buda company zone in the city of Vilvoorde got into a state of urban decay after the closure of companies such as Renault, Cokeries de Marly, and VTR. The Province of Flemish Brabant decided to have a spatial optimisation study drafted. Within this study, the various partners will look at how the Buda-zone can be revitalised within a sustainable economic framework. The study is being lead by the architectural firm 1010au, in cooperation with IDEA Consult, Transport & Mobility Leuven and Witteveen+Bos.
TML’s expertise:
TML’s specific role within this project is to support the team with her expertise on mobility, execute mobility-related studies and perform traffic analysis. More specifically, we investigate possible ways for a better disclosure of the site via the Budasteenweg, and look at the optimisation of various crossroads in the area.
