As part of an analysis of various scenarios of Zero-Emissions Vehicles (ZEV)-uptake, BBL had the impact on transport emissions calculated under the Effort Sharing Regulation (ESR). There was some doubt about the accuracy of the simulations, so BBL asked TML for a second opinion to specifically check the expected CO2 trend in the different scenarios. For this purpose, the effect on the emissions of the Belgian transport sector was investigated if the emission-free company cars, after depreciation, do or do not end up in the Belgian private car fleet.
TML carried out a small ad hoc analysis and verified the assumptions of this investigation.
