From 2019 to 2020
On the Left Bank of the Schelde, in the district of Zwijndrecht, there is an area known as "De Bieshoek". The developer Maatschappij Linkerscheldeoever (MLSO) has, in the broader context of the Complex Project "Extra Container Handling Capacity Antwerp Port Area" (CP ECA), the task to explore the development possibilities for this area.
In a process of continuous consultation with all the parties involved (port authority, local authorities, neighbouring companies, ...), a systematic examination was made of the options that are possible and expedient for a meaningful development of this area. This included looking at the existing structural plans, strategic prospects and needs of the port, the existing state of the environment and infrastructure, future environmental ambitions, and also the mobility aspects. TML was responsible for the analysis of these mobility aspects.

As a final step in the process, a high-level preselection was made of a number of concrete implementation options. Subsequently, TML elaborated on the main differences between the selected alternatives by means of a quick scan social cost-benefit analysis, to serve as a basis for more concrete steps in the long-term dossier.

For this project, we worked together with Sweco.
