The study gives an overview of innovations and solutions that can contribute to a transition to a more sustainable mobility system, of their environmental potential and of the levers that can increase their potential.
In a first step the project identifies the innovations and solutions that may contribute to making the Flemish mobility system more environmentally sustainable. These will be grouped according to broad solution approaches. The study also discusses the current implementation of these innovations and solutions in Flanders.
In a second step the environmental potential of the different categories of solutions and innovations is assessed for Flanders. Where possible, a quantitative assessment is made.
In the final step the main barriers and limits associated with the innovations and solutions are mapped. The levers by which the impact of the barriers and limitations can be removed are also analysed.
