TransMob

Supporting smart mobility by means of data analysis

TML contributed to the TransMob project analysing and interpreting large quantities of mobility data. 542 people registered 26 300 trips to and from Antwerp in 10 days. Together they travelled some 327 000 km, which makes these commuters the largest multimodal test panel in an urban environment.

Who dares to think that phenomena such as big data, open data, ubiquitous data, crowd sourcing, etc. are pure a hype, is wrong. The collected TransMob mobility data gives us an insight on people's mobility behaviour, their daily choices, etc. And that is just the tip of the iceberg, think of the various possibilities to deliver custom-tailored mobility services.
