Premtech
Evaluation of new car technologies with TREMOVE
TML worked on 3 projects in the thematic network PREMTECH II. In these projects, new, clean and efficient prototype car drive trains have been developed. More specifically, it concerns low CO2 diesel passenger cars, new parallel hybrid power trains, and high pressure turbo-charged petrol engines. TML and KU Leuven supported the car manufacturers with TREMOVE model calculations. The model was applied to estimate the market potential of the new technologies, as well as their possible impact on air quality in Europe.
In D-ULEV a low CO2 diesel engine for passenger cars will be developed by Fiat and DaimlerChrysler. The SUVA consortium seeks for a new parallel hybrid power train for DaimlerChrysler, Fiat and Volkswagen. In GET-CO2 project, Renault and Volkswagen develop a gasoline engine with high pressure turbo charging.
