Training Classes CBA Rail

Training for FPS Mobility and Transport, in French and Dutch, 5 days

TML gave, in cooperation with the KU Leuven, a theoretical and practical training on social Cost Benefit Analyses (CBA) to the staff members of the Federal Public Service (FPS) Mobility and Transport. The aim of the training was to enable them to assess railway investment projects critically. With the extra insight of this training they carry out their work now more efficiently.

Social Cost Benefit Analyses analyse the economic, the environmental and the social costs and benefits. In the case of transport infrastructure projects, they analyse therefor impacts on transport prices, congestion, emissions, accidents, distribution of welfare,…among other things

The training consisted of 5 days and dealt with following subjects:

  • general economic aspects,
  • methodological aspects of social Cost Benefit Analyses,
  • an overview of foreign projects and analyses
  • a number of concrete exercises.

TML established the training program in dialogue with the client to satisfy as good as possible its wishes.

The FPS Mobility and Transport asked TML and the KU Leuven  to organise this training because of their elaborate practical experience and their academic knowledge in social Cost Benefit Analyses.
